What does ArcDrive do?
It keeps a catalog of every file on your external drives, so you can search and browse them on your Mac, or on your iPhone with Pro, even when the drives aren't plugged in. It also finds duplicate files, clears creative-app caches, shows what's using the space, and warns you when a drive may be failing.
How do I add a drive?
Plug the drive in, open ArcDrive's Drives section and click Add Drive, then choose the drive. If macOS asks whether ArcDrive may read it, allow it. ArcDrive remembers your answer. The first sync reads every file on the drive; after that, ArcDrive can tell when a drive has changed and needs syncing again. You can add a folder as a drive too.
Will ArcDrive change my files?
Not unless you ask it to. In Safe mode, the default, ArcDrive only reads your drives. Removing duplicates or clearing caches needs Advanced mode, and ArcDrive asks before removing anything, every time. Files go to the Bin unless you choose Delete Permanently.
What's free, and what's in ArcDrive Pro?
The free version catalogs up to 3 drives, with browsing, search, analytics, Drive Check, and finding duplicates and caches.
Pro adds unlimited drives, removing duplicates and clearing caches, and the iPhone app. Drive Check is always free. Pro is monthly, yearly or a one-off lifetime purchase, with a two-week free trial.
What happens to my drives if Pro ends?
Nothing is deleted or hidden. Every drive stays searchable and browsable. Without Pro, only the first 3 drives you added can be synced, and Advanced mode is switched off.
I bought Pro. How do I get it on my other Mac or my iPhone?
Sign in to the App Store with the same Apple Account, then choose Restore Purchases: in Settings → ArcDrive Pro on the Mac, or in Settings on the iPhone. One purchase covers both.
My drives aren't appearing on my iPhone.
- Check you have ArcDrive Pro, and that your Mac and iPhone are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account.
- Check Sync with iPhone is turned on in ArcDrive's Settings on your Mac.
- Make sure your iCloud storage isn't full.
- Open ArcDrive on your iPhone and pull down on Drives to sync now. A large drive can take a few minutes the first time.
Can I sync a drive from my iPhone?
Yes, with ArcDrive Pro. Plug the drive into your iPhone (USB-C, or Apple's Lightning adapter), tap + on Drives and choose the drive in the Files picker. You only choose each drive once. After that, a drive shows Plugged in with a Sync button whenever it's connected, and what you sync reaches your Mac by itself. The iPhone reads APFS, Mac OS Extended, exFAT and FAT drives, and never changes anything on them.
How do I redeem a code?
Choose Redeem Code in ArcDrive's Settings, on your Mac or iPhone, or on the upgrade screen.
How do I cancel, or get a refund?
Subscriptions and refunds are handled by Apple. See Cancel a subscription from Apple and Request a refund from Apple.
What do I need?
A Mac with macOS 26 or newer. The iPhone app needs iOS 26 or newer.
